Pai Khot Fighters crushed Delite Titans by 5 wickets and 6.2 overs to spare in the Desserts n More +45 Veterans Sarsangan Cricket Series at Arlem Cricket Ground.

Electing to bat first, Delite Titans could manage only 121 as they were skittled in 19 overs, thanks to Sanjay Netravalkar who made 51 (40 balls, 5 x 4s) and Avinash Kossambe 22 (20 balls, 2 x 6s). The next highest being 21 sundries while no other batters could reach double figures.

The highlight of the Titans innings being a 45 run partnership off just 35 balls stitched between Sanjay Netravalkar and Avinash Kossambe for the 3rd wicket. For Pai Khot Fighters, the wrecker in chief was MCC President Yogesh Naik returning with match figures of 3-0-14-4 and was supported by Sarvesh Kamat, Jaiprakash Sinai Kunde, Sudesh Prabhudesai and Pratap Prabhugaonkar with a wicket each.

In reply, Pai Khot Fighters were off to a blazing start with Sarvesh Kamat 36 (26 balls, 7 x 4s) and Yogesh Naik 15 (19 balls, 1 x 4s) putting 62 runs for the opening wicket in just 6.4 overs. Though Sandesh Kamat Bambolkar gave some hopes for the Delite Titans dismissing both the openers, the meagre total had no effect on the star studded batting line up of the Pai Khot Fighters. Sandeep Phaldessai 19* (18 balls, 2 x 4s), Paresh Prabhudesai 11 (5 balls, 1 x 4s, 1 x 6s) and Shiraj Pai Khot 10 (6 balls, 2 x 4s) helping their team reach 122/5 (13.4 overs) and cruise home with 5 wickets and 38 balls to spare.

For Titans, the successful bowlers were Sandesh Kamat Bambolkar 2-23, Avinash Kossambe 1-5 and Raju Shenvi Salgaonkar 1-12. Yogesh Naik for his brilliant all-round show was awarded the Desserts n More Man of the Match medal at the hand of BCCI Umpire Nitin Raghuvir Pai in the presence of Gomakant Mahambrey.
