Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has extended his warm and heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa on the festive and religious occasion of Dussehra.

CM in his message said, that “Dussehra is celebrated with great enthusiasm and spiritual fervour all over the nation. It is a festival of joy and gaiety. Dussehra is a pious and principled path represented by the life and deeds of Lord Rama. Dussehra or ‘Vijayadashmi’ indicates the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and is celebrated as a festival of victory of good over evil. It also honours Goddess Durga’s battle against Mahishasura, fighting the evil forces”.

CM further said, “Though the festival is celebrated with different themes in various parts of the country, it unanimously marks the triumph of righteousness over evil. I hope that the festivity will inspire all to reinforce the spirit of virtue to fight against all social evils”.

“Goa has a healthy tradition of celebrating all the festivals.  Goa is transforming into a developed State. Let’s constantly move ahead on the road towards progress. I appeal to the people to be instrumental in the development of the State and urge them to unite together to take the State to a new height of prosperity”, he added.

“Let us celebrate this momentous occasion with enthusiasm and renewed joy. I pray for the well-being of the people. May the celebrations of Dussehra bring happiness, peace, harmony and prosperity to everyone. May the auspicious occasion foster brotherhood among all,” the Chief Minister concluded.

Wishing everyone a Very Happy Dussehra.
