Assagao Union High School recently hosted its annual day with a dazzling display of talent and creativity. Mr. Ruildo D’Souza, Secretary of the Assagao Association, welcomed the gathering with a warm address.
The chief guest of the evening, Mr. Sanjay Divkar, The Deputy Education Officer at North Education Zone Mapusa in his address, emphasized the crucial role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the modern world. He highlighted the importance of equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate this rapidly evolving field. The guest also spoke about the significance of incorporating the latest learning software into the education system to enhance the learning experience and make it more engaging and interactive.
Mr Sanjay Divkar further emphasized the importance of the New Education Policy in fostering holistic development and creating a more inclusive and equitable education system. He also stressed the significance of incorporating outdoor games into the daily routine of students, emphasizing the importance of physical activity for both physical and mental well-being.
Mr Sanjay Divkar concluded his address with a heartfelt message to parents and teachers, urging him to treat every child with gentleness and understanding, recognizing their unique talents and avoiding comparisons that can negatively impact their self-esteem.
The Guest of honor Mr. Nelson Fernandes, emphasized the importance of enjoying the school life to the fullest. He encouraged the students to embrace the learning opportunities available to them and strive for the academic excellence while cherishing the happy moments and friendships forged during their school years.
The headmaster Mr Shreedhar Naik presented the annual report, highlighting the school’s achievements and outlining future goals.
The highlight of the evening was the prize distribution ceremony, where the Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, and other dignitaries presented awards to deserving students for their academic achievements and extracurricular activities. Members of the Parent-Teacher Association were also present to witness the students’ talent and dedication.
The evening was filled with a kaleidoscope of cultural performances showcasing the talents of students from Kindergarten to Grade 10, as well as students from the Primary High School, Assagao. The program was skillfully compered by a talented team of student anchors: Alfia Khan, Ugvesh Parsekar, Krishal Parsekar, and Flavia Fernandes, who were trained by Ms. Eeshwari Narvekar.
The event concluded with Sakshi Sangelkar’s vote of thanks followed by National Anthem. The Annual Day was a resounding success, showcasing the dedication and hard work of the students, teachers, and the entire school community.
